Position Requirements Benefits Application Process
Tutoring
  • minimum of 3.2 overall GPA
  • at least sophomore standing
  • completed application packet
  • interview
  • complete 10 hours of tutor training, 6 hours must be completed before a student can begin tutoring.
  • gain teaching experience
  • hourly wage starting at $8.00/hour
  • national tutor certification can be transferred to other tutoring settings
  • Attend a tutor interest session (see schedule below)
  • Submit a completed application packet (including Tutor Application form, unofficial transcript, current resume, and Faculty Endorsement form). APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2009. FACULTY ENDORSEMENT FORMS ARE DUE BY MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2009.
  • Interview for tutoring positions (interviews will be scheduled after completed applications have been received by CAEE) ALL POSITIONS ARE FULL
Work-Study Assistant
  • be enrolled in the Work-Study Program at Virginia Tech
  • work on campus
  • gain work experience
  • learn about academic support
  • Interested students should submit a resume and requested work schedule to Anita Price (priceam@vt.edu) for consideration. ALL POSITIONS ARE FULL

Graduate Assistant

 
  • admitted to a graduate program at VT
  • must attend graduate assistant orientation
  • opportunities to work with undergraduates
  • gain teaching experience
  • gain experience in program development and implementation
  • tuition & stipend
