• Description

  CAEE is pleased to collaborate with the academic colleges, high schools and pre-college programs throughout the Commonwealth for college information sessions and summer day camps. These programs are designed to promote college attendance and vocational training after high school. In support of this effort, the Center for Academic Enrichment and Excellence in collaboration with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the American Indian Studies program was awarded a grant from the Terry Lynn Poerner Charitable Foundation Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation to help address the challenges of obtaining a higher education among the native people of Virginia. Specifically, the Virginia Indians Pre-College Initiative will collaborate with tribal leaders to promote a college-going culture within Virginia Indian Nations and to boost college aspirations among students, their parents, and tribal leaders. The specific activities of the project will be heavily guided by the needs of the community.

5. On-campus visits co-hosted by Undergraduate Admissions and the Center for Academic Enrichment and Excellence. These visits will include a campus tour and informational workshops conducted by current Virginia Tech Undergraduates. To request a session, click here.
